* Package name : solid Version : 3.5.6 Upstream Author : Gino van den Bergen <gino@dtecta.com> * URL : http://www.dtecta.com * License : GPL, QPL Programming Lang: C++ Description : Software library for collision detection of geometric objects in 3D space. Collision detection is the process of detecting pairs of objects that are intersecting or are within a given proximity of each other. SOLID contains operations for performing intersection tests and proximity queries on a wide variety of shape types, including: deformable triangle meshes, boxes, ellipsoids, and convex polyhedra. Since it exploits temporal coherence in a number of ways, SOLID is especially useful for detecting collisions between objects that move smoothly over time. The motions of objects are controlled by the client application, and are not determined or affected by SOLID. Although it can be used for physics-based simulations, SOLID is not a physics engine by itself. SOLID leaves it up to the application programmer how the laws of physics are implemented.
Please note that Solid is also a technology in kde and currently /usr/lib/libsolid* is in use by the kde packaging. So you need to be careful to not interfere with that. /Sune
A Dilluns 29 Setembre 2008, Sune Vuorela va escriure: shi..... Well, I will have to rename the library :-(. I didn't notice that. I looked if there's some package with that name, but I couldn't imaging that kdelibs5 has a library with that name and not a ksolid, or whatever. Thank's for the point. Regards, Leo

Ok, looking the situation and seeing that the project has its last free version, we have created a fork, with the name solid3D so I hope that it will not interfere in any other lib. Regards, Leo
retitle 500616 RFP: solid -- Software library for collision detection of geometric objects in 3D space noowner 500616 thanks Hi, This is an automatic email to change the status of solid back from ITP (Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen any activity during the last 12 months. If you are still interested in adopting solid, please send a mail to <control@bugs.debian.org> with: retitle 500616 ITP: solid -- Software library for collision detection of geometric objects in 3D space owner 500616 ! thanks However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on this ITP from time to time, by mailing <500616@bugs.debian.org>. Thank you for your interest in Debian,
