libconvert-uulib-perl includes a copy of uulib since version 1.0-1:

  * Switch back to linking statically against self-provided uulib source
  (instead of linking against libuu-dev), and drop build-dependence on
  uulib-dev: Included uulib is actually a fork with valuable enhancements
  compared to uulib in uudeview. This closes: Bug#223758.  Keep patches to
  link against uulib-dev, just in case...
  [...]

The included library seems to be based on uulib 0.5.20 [1], though
doc/HISTORY still mentions 0.5.18.

It should use the library from libuu-dev instead.

Also, the documentation for uulib, doc/library.pdf, comes without source[2].

Hi,
as the author of the module claims: the provided library is
'heavily bugfixed' by himself, I don't know why his bugfix
didn't make upstream but if you do a diffstat you will find that
many file are different and uulib.c of libconvert-uulib-perl has
many changes :|

What should we do? Ask the uulib-dev maintainer to take over upstream,
if it is not active, and include Marc Lehmann's changes?
