django-cms uses the Mootools JavaScript library[0] for a lot of its hierarchical display stuff within the admin interface. As noted at the ITP for mootools-core[1], there are problems with getting Mootools into Debian. As such, I may not be able to close this ITP for a while. In case I miss the fact that this problem has been cleared, there's a bzr branch of my packaging available at [2]. Dan [Footnote 0: http://mootools.net/] [Footnote 1: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=500697] [Footnote 2: http://bzr.daniel-watkins.co.uk/debian/python-django-cms/]
The problem with mootols has been solved as of Tue, 01 Sep 2009 20:30:18 +0000 and the package is in debian unstable. I might be possible to submit django-cms to debian now. evgeni
Ping? Regards, Faidon
As the BZR branch at [0] is empty, I'd like to ask on what status this ITP is in? If no one is willing to work on it, I'd offer to take a look at it on behalf of the PMPT/PAPT. [0] http://bzr.daniel-watkins.co.uk/debian/python-django-cms/
The branch is not empty. $ bzr branch http://bzr.daniel-watkins.co.uk/debian/python-django-cms/ creates a checkout of 115 revisions of packaging. Last commit is a while ago...------------------------------------------------------------ revno: 115 committer: Daniel Watkins <daniel@daniel-watkins.co.uk> branch nick: python-django-cms timestamp: Wed 2009-04-15 09:50:21 +0100 message: Added use_search patch. (Dan, hope you won't be too angry with me for this ;-) ) Dan is still actively developing with django and django-cms, but as far as I know, he has little available time for debian packaging. It probably is best to change this to RFP. Regards, Dmitrijs.
Hi, I'll take care of this ITP. I need some CMS for a little project of mine and this seems to be appropriate way of doing it, so I'll package django-cms together with its dependencies. O.
retitle 516183 RFP: python-django-cms -- hierarchical Django content management system app noowner 516183 tag 516183 - pending thanks Hi, This is an automatic email to change the status of python-django-cms back from ITP (Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen any activity during the last 12 months. If you are still interested in adopting python-django-cms, please send a mail to <control@bugs.debian.org> with: retitle 516183 ITP: python-django-cms -- hierarchical Django content management system app owner 516183 ! thanks However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on this ITP from time to time, by mailing <516183@bugs.debian.org>. Thank you for your interest in Debian,
retitle 516183 ITP: python-django-cms -- hierarchical Django content management system app owner 516183 ! thanks Hi, I'll take a stab at packaging django-cms, starting with version 3.0 (currently in beta). Regards Markus Wanner
retitle 516183 RFP: python-django-cms -- hierarchical Django content management system app noowner 516183 tag 516183 - pending thanks Hi, A long time ago, you expressed interest in packaging python-django-cms. Unfortunately, it seems that it did not happen. In Debian, we try not to keep ITP bugs open for a too long time, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from packaging the software. This is an automatic email to change the status of python-django-cms from ITP (Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen any activity during the last 12 months. Hi, is anybody still working on this? Upstream is now on github, it seems: https://github.com/divio/django-cms
