Hello,

While playing with edos-debcheck, I've noticed a significant
regression in performances between the version currently in testing
(1.0-8) and the one in unstable (1.4.2-4). Running it on the same
machine, with the same input file, gives the following results:

 * with 1.0-8: 25,66s user 0,16s system 99% cpu 25,849 total
 * with 1.4.2-4: 6,88s user 0,11s system 99% cpu 7,003 total

Cheers,

Did you try the installability check for one package or for all
packages in the archive?

Uhm, that's a pretty bad one, especially for the work just done by
Joachim to integrate it into wanna-build, where speed is an issue.

Jaap (main upstream maintainer), any idea about where this might come
from?

Cheers.

all, I guess. I can reproduce similar figures on my machine when
checking all packages.

i already contacted Jaap about that. -Ralf
