When importing the 'Adobe Illustrator version' (Dragon.ai) file from llvm.org/Logo.html
into inkscape (inkscape Dragon.ai, import dialog pops up) the gradient is wrong, it goes all the way to black as seen here:
http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/attachments/20090731/07c52d92/attachment.png

Regardless if during the import I choose rough or fine import of gradients.

Here is how it should look like:
http://llvm.org/img/DragonMedium.png

If I open the Dragon.ai file in xpdf or okular (its a PDF after all), then the
gradient is displayed properly.

It is only when importing to inkscape or gimp this bug occurs.

thanks

I can confirm this using inkscape_0.48.1-2ubuntu2. The AI file opens
correctly in evince, but the gradient on the dragon's neck shows
incorrecly in inkscape. This is possibly a duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/410846 but I will open a new
upstream report just in case.

I have also attached the AI file and screenshots of the image in
inkscape and evince for convenience (and in case the previous links
ever go dead).

Thanks,

AV
