I'm trying wtite CD's via wodim, but wodim display error;

/usr/bin/wodim: The current problem looks like a buffer underrun.
/usr/bin/wodim: It looks like 'driveropts=burnfree' does not work for this drive.
/usr/bin/wodim: Please report.
/usr/bin/wodim: Make sure that you are root, enable DMA and check your HW/OS set up.

I tried set DMA for my cd-writter (/dev/sdc0), but this in impossible.

# hdparm -d1 /dev/scd0

/dev/scd0:
 setting using_dma to 1 (on)
HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device
HDIO_GET_DMA failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device

Hi all,

My computer has a x64 processor and use 2.6.32-5-amd64 kernel version.
And I am unable to burn a CD or DVD with Wodim.

I have the same problem that is signaled on the bugs.debian.org site: bug
#549020.
In the last message, it says that the problem is solved but not for me.

Here are the results of my commands :

 uname -r
2.6.32-5-amd64

sudo hdparm -I /dev/scd0

but a year or two ago the cdrom device could be used to show
movies. At that time, as far as I could tell, the cd device
worked perfectly for viewing DVD movies. I did try copying an
audio cd but the process was very slow. I do not remember
whether I tried recording onto a cd. Now, after likely a couple
of kernel upgrades, the cdrom device does not work at all.

I have a few T43 thinkpads, all with Debian installed. I tried
another T43 running Debian at the same level of upgrade and it
also had this bug.

Here is what 'less /proc/cpuinfo' returns on the T43 I am using now:
