not sure, what to make of it, though.

As stated above, the daemon fails to start, or does not initalise
correctly, and bluetooth is unusable. hciconfig does not show any devices.

(Unless there is some other unrelated problem that is causing this...)

that's correct, though the plugin does nothing more than receiving messages on
netlink

here it starts correctly even with said undefined symbol

I think there is, thus your error is not related to this one.

Can you provide more context of your error? logs, debug output, etc
