FYI, here's a proposal for a reorganisation of the way the rhythmbox upnp plugin is built.

Subject: Bug#564642: rhythmbox ships a copy of sources from coherence source package (upnp plugin)
X-Mailer: reportbug 4.9
Package: rhythmbox
Version: 0.12.6-2
Severity: normal
Hi.
Rhythmbox ships a copy of the UPNP plugin which is available also in the coherence source package. This is not the way Debian packages should be made AFAIK.
At the moment this plugin code depends on python-coherence, that built from that very coherence sources, of course.
I think it would be better to have coherence build a rhythmbox plugin (let's call it rhythmbox-upnp-plugin) out of its sources, and get rid of these from the rhythmbox source package.
The dependency chain would then be :
rhythmbox(rhythmbox-dfsg) -> rhythmbox-upnp-plugin(coherence) -> python-coherence
-> python-louie
Of course, this means a corresponding bug should probably be filed on coherence to ask for the packaging of such a plugin binary package.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
