When trying to define a password using the ldapvi syntax
field:ssha clear textt

I get the error "Sorry, SHA1 support not linked into ldapvi"

Could the SHA1 support be activated in order to be able to define passwords this way ?
Thank you.

SHA1 isn't available because Debian chose to link ldapvi using GnuTLS
instead of OpenSSL licensing reasons.

Ah, if this is the problem then I'm sorry, Erwan, we can't fix the
issue, given the licensing incompatibilities. Even if David gives
linking exceptions in his licensing (which he is willing to do) there is
still the incompatibility between also linked libreadline and openssl
licensing that hinders to go that path. :/

Thus I can only mark this bugreport as wontfix, sorry. Thanks for the
headsup like always, David. :)

 So long!
