My screen supports 237 cols.
Currently, it looks like this:

I think it's better to put the stats column first, followed by the hostnames. That way, it's more readable.

Hello,

I am the new maintainer for iftop. Once upon a time you submitted a
wishlist bug report and requested to change the output of iftop to fit
your terminal that supported 237 columns.

Is this still a problem with the latest version of iftop 1.0~pre2-5?

I don't think, speaking here for myself, that this is a real issue and I
like the current output format of iftop. I haven't experienced this kind
of askew layout before. Normally it should be easily avoidable by
choosing an appropriate number of columns.

Ok, removing tag moreinfo.

I use rxvt-unicode as my preferred terminal emulator with a geometry of
120x35. I think 120 columns fit perfectly well on wide screens and are
still easy to read. Long lines of text are usually harder to read and
are exhausting for the eyes.

It depends on your terminal emulator but usually you can adjust the
number of columns in .Xdefaults. Gnome-Terminal offers a menu option for
that.

I would be more worried about it, if iftop didn't work on terminals with
just 80 columns. Therefore I can only recommend to you to use less
columns, this will definitely fix the issue.

I forgot to say that I can't reproduce it, even if I increase the number
of columns for rxvt-unicode to 237.
