When I start pidgin none of my accounts log in automatically, I get a
green dot in the status area at the bottom of the application saying
"Available - Waiting for network connection."

I can go to Manage Accounts and uncheck and recheck the Enabled box for
each account and the accounts will log on properly. But I have to do
this again the next time I start pidgin. I imported my .purple directory
from a Lenny install, but even setting up a new profile doesn't change
this problem.

This is a fresh squeeze install, I just did my first "apt-get
dist-upgrade", which gave me a new version of pidgin, but I noticed the
problem with the prior version of pidgin as well. 2.6.4-1.

Hello,

I can confirm it.

So it is impossible to use this version

Hello,

when I installed pidgin 2.7.3, it was working.
I was using NetworkManager to manage my wlan0.

now I have switched to static address within my home network, I am no
more using Network manager.
and pidgin has the same behaviour as described in message #5.

Unfortunately I cannot go back to test with NetworkManager, I have it
still installed, but my nm-applet is not finding any connections at the
moment.

This is to say, maybe is this bug linked to NetworkManager or its absence.
