Gimp save a tif file with bad lzw compression. For example: when i take the file http://www.hausgemeinschaft-hoerde.de/~reiner/linux/bugs/100dpi-lzw.tif (about 80 KB) and save it without any changes i get a file with 100 KB. When i rescale it to 90 dpi, i get 88 KB with lenny (gimp 2.4.7) or 92 KB with testing and unstable (gimp 2.6.7). Of course, the problem is not serious here, but scanning a file with A0 or 36" size in high resolution it makes a big difference. This example file is scanned with an OCE Scanner.
What program generated the original TIFF? Or did it come directly from the scanner?
