When I try to burn a dvd the selected speed is gradually ignored and the write speed goes up to exceed the limit of writing support.
This problem has occurred because of recent updates (in December) of brasero and / or one of its first library, in the same media type and the same speed was not the case no problem.
the recorder is LG brand and the interface is serial-ata

It looks like a bug in libburn, since brasero correctly sets burn speed
in the code.

Could you try burning the iso by hand with cdrskin, to see if burning
speed conforms to the arguments you pass? This would help to see where
the bug lies.

Thanks,

Hi,
I am experiencing the same problem as Pedro with brasero.
If I burn a DVD or DVD RW with brasero, it always goes for maximum speed
(and possibly write errors)
I tried "cdrskin -v dev=/dev/sr0 speed=2.4 blank=as_needed $MYISOIMAGE"
and it says it wrote with correct speed (2.4x).

brasero still ignores speed settings.
By always using the maximum speed, it produces media with an ecxessive
amount of errors (QpxTool):

This behavior makes brasero an unnusable package.
