I met a problem that gnome 2.28 would not redraw text in menu untill i hover the mouse pointer over it, or i got i black squares sometimes in nautilus, i added the damage option in xorg.conf but nothing happend
What's your graphics card and video driver? Cheers, Emilio
Sorry i;ve never used before the GUI bug reporting tool, i've thinked that it will gather information automaticaly, i use Graphics card: radeon 9550, using the open source radeon driver 6.12.99 GIT, gnome 2.28.2 2010/2/28 Emilio Pozuelo Monfort <pochu@debian.org>
Please run 'reportbug --template xserver-xorg-video-radeon' and send its output to this bug. Although if you're building the driver from git yourself, it might be better to file this upstream at bugs.freedesktop.org. Cheers, Julien
Ok, i've attached the output, but i'm thinkg to reinstall the whole system tonight and to see if the bug is going to reproduce or i've did something wrong. Oh, and another thing, i have the same problem with xfce... 2010/2/28 Julien Cristau <jcristau@debian.org>
I managed to fix it, i've downgraded the radeon driver from 6.12.99git to 6.12.4-3 in unstable, now everything is fine! :) And another thing i haven't compiled the radeon driver myself it was from a package in a ubuntu PPA repository. Sorry to bother you guys and thank you for your time. :)
ceco m wrote: Either you test the radeon driver in experimental and we'll mark the bug as found in its version, or we close this bug since you don't know any Debian package version that actually has the bug. Brice
Closing. Cheers, Julien
