murphy still had around 10 GB in /var/cache/apt/.  This used
to be cleaned automaticly.

who is murphy?

Does the problem still persist? Can you show me how to reproduce it myself?
After this bug sat around for five years I'd like to either resolve or close
it.

One of the old buildds.

This was a setup with a directory as far as I know.  I don't think
we have any setup like that, so I can't tell.
