Newmat11 is not available in the repositories under any release.  It is a the newer version of the library, and the author "suggest[s] you use newmat11 in preference to newmat10"

The newer version (newmat11) is "currently under development", but it seems that there haven't been any updates since 2008.

Right now, only version 10 of the library is available in the debian repositories.

This bug is a request for the packaging of newmat11.

Actually I wont need that version because my project depends on 10

will upgrading break those packages :

apt-cache rdepends libnewmat10ldbl

   fsl
   sofa-apps
   libsofa1
   objcryst-fox
   libnewmat10-dev
   fslview


But I am open to collaborative maintenance :
If anyone want to help tell me and I'll push my git tree to debian-science repo
And can mentor you on my (rare) free time
