It would be nice if dch in the "--maintainer" mode didn't change timezone of the top changelog entry.
"--maintmaint" mode? :-) Does -t / --mainttrailer do what you want? Or were you looking for the datestamp to update, but maintaining the existing timezone? Regards, Adam
retitle 581572 [debchange] --maintmaint should keep timezone as-is thanks * Adam D. Barratt <adam@adam-barratt.org.uk>, 2010-05-13, 21:39: Erm, yes. The latter.
What's the use case here? If the trailer is being changed by someone in a different timezone, why should the datestamp of their change reflect someone else's timezone? Cheers,
* James McCoy <jamessan@debian.org>, 2015-03-13, 00:06: When you use --maintmaint, dch updates the timestamp, but keeps the maintainer's name in the trailer. This may create false impression that the maintainer lives in a wildly different timezone than they actually do. That said, I don't use --maintmaint these days, so if nobody else cares, feel free to close the bug.
