the bugs.debian.org online documentation for the control server
http://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control
does not list all commands, e.g. 'limit' is missing.
The command index on top of the page does not list all commands that are
documented, e.g. 'package' is missing. Also the index lists "tag" while
the socumentation is only about "tags" (without mentioning the aliases,
but that's fine to not overflow the webpage).
Eventually a link to a (current) online version of the manpage BTS(1)
would be helpful to get more details if needed.

Another thing I could find neither online nor in BTS(1) is how to
generate commands with long string parameters (usually the new title for
'retitle') if your MUA prefers to wrap long lines, e.g.

retitle 0 bugs.debian.org: http://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control does
 not document how to set extremely long bug titles (like this) with MUAs
 that do line wrapping

I tried ending the line with '\', starting the next line with a space
(as in debian/control) and both together, always getting "processed with
1 error" and a truncated title in return.

There isn't a way to do this. If your MUA forces line wrapping, your
MUA is fundamentally broken, and the BTS does not work around
fundamentally broken MUAs. Use the bts command line tools in
devscripts instead.

The other stuff is a bug which I will deal with eventually.

In case that fundamentally broken MUA is Thunderbird, the "Toggle Word
Wrap" add-on solves the problem:
