after the update to 2.30.1.2 all my settings were lost and the font settings
are still ignored making the reading of mail rather unpleasant

By “all”, you mean *all* settings? Is gconf running correctly? What is
selected in the font settings? (theme or manual?)

Sure, but please let the bug CC'ed.

Hmh, I didn't reproduce the two boxes I have (one running sid, the other
running squeeze, both on Xfce).

And if you re-set the settings, are they kept? It could have been
helpful to have the gconf settings before and after the upgrade, but I
have to admit I don't have a clue.

sorry about the cc thing
by "reset the settings" i assume you mean change them then exit then
restart then change them back to what they were and exit and then
restart again and see if they took?

No, just set them to what you want, and see if it works.

ok i did that several times and no it didn't work

when i resized the window and switched off mail previews again and
restarted those settings stayed set ... the fonts however are completely
random ... not even system fonts

also, not sure if it means anything but when i start evolution i see the
preview panes displayed then they hide within a half second or so ...
this never used to happen either
