I found that I had inadvertently upgraded python gammu and tried to use
wammu to connect to my Nokia 7250i via CA-42 cable, resulting in a lock-up
when doing anything more than connecting and "retrieve info".

Downgrading to python-gammu 0.26-1 solved the problem, but I don't know how
long python-gammu 0.26-1 and its dependencies will remain in Debian.

What would be a good strategy to debug the problem?

Can you please acquire debug logs for both versions so that we can see
the difference? See <http://wammu.eu/support/bugs/> for more details.

Hi, I will attache wammu-old-good.log and wammu-new-bad.log to this report.

My original bug report was with the "old good" software installed, this is
with the "new bad" software installed.

In my previous logs I only attempted to connect to the handset and
synchronise time on the handset. Attempting to synchronise time with the
newer libwammu was sufficient to lock up wammu until I physically
disconnected the cable between the handset and the computer.

Arthur.
