munpack should detect directories.
$ munpack /tmp
Did not find anything to unpack from /tmp
$ cat /tmp
cat: /tmp: Is a directory

Dear mpack-bugs@andrew.cmu.edu : there are lots of other Debian mpack
bugs too...
