Songs played on XMMS2 from a forked-daapd server skip bits every few
seconds. There's no "hole" in the audio, no silence, but a tiny amount
of time in the song seems to be just forgotten. The result is very
confusing, since the bars become irregular (to give an idea: on
"standard" pop-rock music, about half a beat is lost once every two to
three bars), and of course some notes are shortened or missing.

I'm Cc:ing the forked-daapd maintainer, because the problem *might* be
in forked-daapd. It only started appearing when I replaced mt-daapd
with forked-daapd on the music server, so that might be a hint, but on
the other hand other DAAP clients such as Rhythmbox and Banshee seem to
work fine:

          | mt-daapd | forked-daapd
----------+----------+-------------
xmms2 | OK | fail
rhythmbox | OK | OK
banshee | OK | OK

Any hints on how to debug that?

Thanks,

Roland.
