I'm currently running a testing distribution, and I have a problem
printing a PDF file containing an embedded PNG graphic.  The file is
attached.

The printer is a Brother DCP-9040CN using the Brother-provided PPD
file (also attached).

The printer prints PDF files fine if there are no graphics, but the
included PNG (included via pdflatex) leads to output which basically
looks like a low-quality graphic, and is almost unreadable.

I'm not quite sure how this happened, or what I can do about it.  I
don't recall it having been an issue in the past, but I don't remember
when I last successfully printed a PDF such as this in the past.

I upped the severity of this to important, but I don't know whether it
only affects me or also affects others.

It means that any time I try to print a PDF file containing an image
to a postscript printer using CUPS, the file comes out disastrously.

I have no idea what is causing the problem, but if it is affecting
many others, the severity should be increased and it should certainly
be fixed for squeeze.  If I am unusual in being affected, then it can
stay as important and get fixed later.

This problem is also affecting me. When I print any document containing
images, the quality is very very bad. When I use Acrobat Reader to print
the same file, the quality is very good. Is there anyone working on this?
I'm using sid/experimental. My poppler-utils version is  0.16.7-2+b1. If
you need more information, just ask!
