#59870 debconf: Debconf should have an escape option

     NOTE: This was first mailed on Sat Mar  4, but I have not
received an acknowledgment from the BTS, and haven't seen it on
-bugs-dist.  I apologize if it is a duplicate.

     It would be desirable to have a command available to abort
debconf and allow apt-get or dpkg to continue installation of a
package.  If a package's configuration questions are broken, there is
no way to continue installation.  If debconf could be aborted, and the
installation continued, it would be possible to inspect the postinst,
and perhaps modify it to permit configuration.
