In legacy GRUB it was possible to generate an arbitrary number of kernel boot
lines by adding "altoption" lines to menu.lst (you could have lines for default
boot, recovery, non-X, blacklisting certain modules automatically generated for
each installed kernel) .

This isn't possible in GRUB2... it's necessary to do it by hand each time you
install or build a new kernel.

It is probably a little-used feature, but now that I've started trying to debug
some kernel-related problems I really miss the ability to have these entries
generated each time I rebuild a kernel.
