  Description     : Real-space TDDFT-based electronic-structure code

Octopus is a scientific program aimed at the ab initio virtual
experimentation on a hopefully ever-increasing range of system types.
Electrons are described quantum-mechanically within Density-Functional
Theory (DFT), in its Time-Dependent form (TDDFT) when doing simulations
in time. Nuclei are described classically as point particles.
Electron-nucleus interaction is described within the pseudopotential
approximation.

This package will be part of the Debian Science nanoscale-physics
metapackage.

The packaging of Octopus will be further delayed, because there are
still non-free dependencies which have to be discussed.

I'll discuss in September with the upstream developers about possible
plans to remove the proprietary dependencies of Octopus.

If things move well during summer, we might even be able to propose a
package before the end of the year.

Hi,

Due to the diversity of configurations available in our scientific
network (http://etsf.eu/), we have decided to prepare all our packages
for different Debian-based distributions at once:

  * Debian Squeeze
  * Debian Wheezy
  * Ubuntu Lucid Lynx
  * Ubuntu Precise Pangolin
  * Mint 13

I'm currently preparing helper scripts to facilitate the task and will
be in touch with the respective packager teams.

We expect to have some packages ready this Summer.

Best regards,

Yann.

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of octopus back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 12 months.

If you are still interested in adopting octopus, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <602111@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,

Hi,

A long time ago, you expressed interest in packaging octopus. Unfortunately,
it seems that it did not happen. In Debian, we try not to keep ITP bugs open
for a too long time, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to
refrain from packaging the software.

This is an automatic email to change the status of octopus back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 12 months.

If you are still interested in packaging octopus, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

It is also a good idea to document your progress on this ITP from time to
time, by mailing <602111@bugs.debian.org>. If you need guidance on how to
package this software, please reply to this email, and/or contact the
debian-mentors@lists.debian.org mailing list.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,

We are currently re-investing through project funding in investment loans
to third party investors, project owners on a 2.5% interest rate per annum
on long term investment projects that can generate up to 10% ROI within the
period of investment. If our offer for collaboration is within the
acceptable financing scheme anticipated by your organization, we will be
glad to consider a possible collaboration with your organization. Please
send your proposal/executive summary Sincere Regards, Ahmed Elzayat
