Comments/Problems:

The installation process runs ok as far as d-i is concerned, but the installed system lacks
two things by default:
a) proper display resolution in X
b) working audio


X display resolution
====================

X.org does not seem to detect the real monitor capabilities and seems to assume a
default monitor with very limited capabilities. From /var/log/Xorg.0.log:

The actual monitor connected to the system is a 15" TFT with a native resolution of

Due to the wrong or missing monitor detection, X.org discards all modes for 1024x768
and starts up in only 800x600, which is too small for practical use.
