Xerces currently supports the element() XPointer scheme, but not the
xpointer() scheme.  The latter would be very useful to have, especially
when using XInclude to process documents that have no DTD but use a
non-xml:id ID element (say, XHTML5).

I'd prefer if you'd forward it.  The request is clear and unambiguous.
If I were submitting a patch or if Apache were sensible and had only one
BTS (I've registered in Bugzilla, but not Jira), I'd be okay with it,
but I really do not want to have a BTS account for every upstream for
whose package I submit a wishlist request.
