Hi, For some bugs I'm subscribed to I don't get all mails any more since several months. The most recent example is bug #587979. While I've received the messages from both John Talbut (msg-ID: <4D64E7BB.5040600@dpets.co.uk>) and Marco d'Itri (msg-ID: <20110223151011.GA29253@bongo.bofh.it>) I didn't get both mails from Ludovic Rousseau (msg-ID: <4D64F740.2060600@gmail.com> and msg-ID: <4D6534D3.3040402@gmail.com>). Regards Hannes
I think I've stumbled upon the same bug; I have subscribed (twice) to #585409, and yet I cannot seem to get any copy of the followup messages. Yet it appears to work just fine for the dozens of other bugs I'm subscribed to.
I've just noticed the same problem on bug 640463. I haven't received: Message-ID: <20120608094659.1a6a140a@osrdii.lokal> Message-ID: <20120608090136.GD8665@rene-engelhard.de> Message-ID: <20120608090725.GE8665@rene-engelhard.de> I received the last one only because it was Cc'ed to 640463-submitter, but I didn't receive the copy as a subscriber. However I received the "Processed" messages (which show, at the bottom of the mail, that I'm still subscribed to the bug).
This still occurs. For bug 684923, I've received the control message------------------------------------------------------------ Processing commands for control@bugs.debian.org: Bug #684923 [fontconfig-config] fontconfig-config: Please stop messing with my /etc Added tag(s) pending. Stopping processing here. Please contact me if you need assistance. -- 684923: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=684923 Debian Bug Tracking System Contact owner@bugs.debian.org with problems
I am having this problem too. I opened bug #696554 and subsequently subscribed to it from my gmail account. I only have received messages from control to my gmail (susbscriber) address. I never received and of the missing the 7 followup messages (messages #19-59 in the bug report. Some of the other bugs to which I am subscribed seem to function properly and I receive all new messages.
Ha! Case-in-point - I had subscribed to this bug report before commenting: However, I never received the email for my comment (Message #27). The BTS is clearly not functioning properly.
This problem still occurs. It has occurred in March 2013 on bug 702005 with mail from Sven Joachim. It now also occurs on bug 724964: I haven't received any mail from Thomas Schmitt, even after a second subscription to this bug. I don't know where this matters, but these two users have e-mail addresses in @gmx.de and @gmx.net respectively.
because one can miss potentially important discussion. This problem has occurred again for https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=783610#47 However I've received the "Processing control commands" mail, with "To unsubscribe, send mail to 783610-unsubscribe@bugs.debian.org." at the end, confirming that I'm still subscribed to this bug.
it had been blocked on buxtehude for about 7 hours).
Control: tag -1 moreinfo Control: severity -1 normal You'll have to provide the headers; there's no reason why buxtehude would normally be holding mail that long.

So looking into the logs, it looks like buxtehude tried to send it to bendel at the right time, but couldn't, and so it was put into the queue, which wasn't reprocessed until much later. Apparently, though, the actual issue is that the network connectivity at man-da, where bendel is, has been having trouble recently. debian-admin is on the job and working on it.
is affected, not buxtehude -> my server [2]:

([1] is sent because I'm subscribed to the bug, [2] is sent because
I'm the author of the message with a "Control:" pseudo-header).
Yeah. Looking at the logs, buxtehude retried to sending to bendel, but before it got to your message in the queue, there was a disconnect, and so it took a while for the queue to clear. I think once the network problem is resolved, this will go away. [If it takes much longer, I might ask DSA to decrease the retry window to bendel to try to avoid temporary packet loss causing this problem.]
