When Xchat-chats plugin is activated, the irc conversation's input box
becomes too small, you can only see the bottom half of the characters,
making the editing of messages too difficult.

This bug was confirmed in the pidgin bug tracker, but since this is a
third party plugin, they can't fix it:

Same issue here. If there is no fix available, maybe that plugin should not be built as part
of this package anymore until the issue is fixed? At the moment, it's broken, and it's not
obvious for people who used it in the past that this is the reason group chats don't work for
them anymore.
