#623258 polkit-kde: Authentication fails with correct root password

The KDE policy kit dialogue fails to authenticate even if I give it the
correct root password. This reproduces everytime, since some time ago
and makes saving NM passwords impossible.

Steps to Reproduce:
Start nm-applet, right click on its applet to get a menu, choose "edit
connections". Go to wireless tab, choose "Add" and add some data, check the
"Available to all users" box and try to save.

Two more more bugs are related to this:
1. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/policykit-gnome/+bug/500354
This seems exactly the same, but for the GNOME counter part.

2.https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=271147
Opened by me, because the same dialogue fails to tell what it wants.

Sorry that it took so long to get back to you. I think that this issue is no
longer there, probably since polkit-kde-1 was migrated to kf5. In any case,
can you please check if this is solved for you?

Happy hacking,

¡Hola!

Unfortunately I cannot trigger it by following those steps because of
#849854 (cannot trigger nm-applet). I don't know of other ways to
trigger that dialogue, I'll try it over the weekend.

The sddm config module uses the polkit dialog, afaik.

Hi!

It seems the polkit-kde-1 package got renamed to polkit-kde-agent-1 and
the transitional package then dropped. Reassigning it to an existing
package. Not sure whether this issue is still valid or not, up to the
maintainers to decide/deal-with.

Thanks,
Guillem
