With BC installed, the cursor on my system is a large X. It does change sizes, say when it is over IceWeasel etc. but then reverts back to the X when moved back over empty screen space (Which I think is what is ment by the term 'root window'). But then if I minimize or kill any item, using the square on the tab of any thing running in wm2, say xeyes or xclock, it reverts back to a small arrow until X is stopped or restarted or I log out of X to end the session. Thinking it over, it may be that other things that may may have subtle interactions causing this are wmanager, vdesk and keylaunch, which I'm running all the time I use X. I'll see if I can do some experiments tomorrow to see if eliminating any one of these eliminates the problem too. I just did some research on this. I verified that wmanager, keylaunch and vdesk didn't seem to have anything to do with the problem, I think leaving xdm, wm2 and big-cursor itself as possible culprits. On my system, after logging in, the cursor is in a large version of the X_cursor. After minimizing or killing a window or app, it reverts to a small version of the top_left_arrow cursor. I can reset it to the large X_cursor via xsetroot -cursor_name X_cursor or a large version of top_left_arrow with xsetroot similarly, obviously larger than the small version it reverts to after closing with the square on the window tab. I also note that just before switching to the small top_left_arrow, it flips momentarily to a small X_cursor, which might be a clue. Anyway, thanks for any thought given this. As a stop gap, I may set a hot key to reset it, should be possible. :-) Regards, Dallas E.
