Back when I was using nautilus from GNOME 2, I created a gvfs sftp mount
to the file system root of another computer and bookmarked it.  Now, if
I click on the bookmark to mount it, I get the root directory, which is
expected.  However, if it is already mounted, instead of getting taken
to the root directory again, I get taken to my home directory (on the
remote system) instead.  This is annoying since I almost never am
interested in what's in my home directory on that machine, but instead
what is in /media.

I think that the behavior should be the same regardless of whether the
remote file system is already mounted: ensure that it is mounted and
then display the root of the remote file system.

Hey Brian,

this is an old bug.

Could you please still reproduce this issue with newer nautilus version
like 3.4.2-1+build1 or 3.8.2-3 ?

Using whatever's in sid, clicking on the bookmark now works correctly.
Clicking on the network link leads me to the wrong place, though.
Nevertheless, you can probably close this, since there is a sane way to
do what I want.

bookmarks aren't working here, I have to try with a fresh new account.
I won't close it for now.

yes it was my user configurations issues, now I have bookmarks working fine.

I am marking this issue to 3.12.2-1 also since it always goes to home
directory sftp after mounted.
just goes to right location on bookmarks.
