The icons in notification area do not start at the top of the pane and the bottom of the icons is missing.
Which icons/software do you have there? Regards,
Excerpts from Yves-Alexis Perez's message of Tue Aug 30 13:54:30 +0200 2011: uim-toolbar-gtk-systray Thanks Michal
If that's the only one, that looks like an issue with it, not the panel.
Excerpts from Yves-Alexis Perez's message of Tue Aug 30 16:03:22 +0200 2011: Don't think so. When I also run wicd-gtk the icons are all aligned properly, including those of UIM. When I quit wicd-gtk the UIM icons are too low again. Thanks Michal
Ok so there's definitely bad interaction there. Could you try changing your GTK+ theme (best if you select one from a different engine) and report back? It might help trying in another notification-area soft, though I have no idea which one. Regards,
Excerpts from Yves-Alexis Perez's message of Tue Aug 30 18:14:54 +0200 2011: I suspect the latter are differently colored variants of the earlier. I also tried the themes from gnome-themes, gnome-themes-extras and gnome-themes-more and see no difference although the themes install some engines. Neither do I. In most all the UIM icons would be displayed in the place for one icon (icewm, lxpanel, fbpanel) and gnome-panel crashes for me. Thanks Michal
Ok. Ok. could you make some screenshots?
Attaching some more colourful screenshots. Thanks Michal
Uh, that's definitely ugly. So all those icons left of wicd are from uim-toolbar-gtk-systray? What exactly is it? I can't find a package named like that. Regards,
Excerpts from Yves-Alexis Perez's message of Wed Aug 31 17:10:26 +0200 2011: Yes, that's them. The package would be uim-gtk2.0 I am not sure it would run without starting the IM as well. You can use im-switch to set it up for some locale and then run LANG=<that lang> /etc/X11/Xsession.d/80im-switch I guess. Thanks Michal
