Version of this font in Debian is so fscking old I do not consider
this wishlist-bug, anymore. Latest version available at CTAN is
000.943 .

Hi,

 Hmm.

 I cannot find Asana-math font in openfontlibrary.org which is specified
 as upstream Homepage in debian/control. As Fedora page(*) says it was moved
 from CTAN to oflb but now it seems to be maintained in CTAN(*).

*) https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Asana_Math_fonts
*) http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/Asana-Math/

 Probably we should take it from CTAN to upgrade.
 Then, question to the team.

 Q) Do we continue to provide it as fonts-"oflb"-asana-math or switch
    to simply fonts-asana-math?

 + how do we check its version? CTAN mirror just provide one zip file
   without any versions...

Also the font is likely to be packaged as pert of TeX Live, but kept in
TeX tree and not installed where FontConfig can see it, like many other
fonts in TeX Live. Not sure what is the policy here, but it is worth
making one if there isn't already.

Regards,
Khaled

Meanwhile CTAN has version 000.955 <https://ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/Asana-Math>.
One can query CTAN via a JSON (or XML) API: https://ctan.org/json/2.0/pkg/asana-math

BTW, TeX Live on Debian does not contain this font but refers to the font installed by
this package:

$ ls -l /usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/fonts/opentype/public/Asana-Math/Asana-Math.otf
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 58 Nov 16 06:46 /usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/fonts/opentype/public/Asana-Math/Asana-Math.otf -> ../../../../../../fonts/truetype/asana-math/Asana-Math.otf

It would really e nice to have this font updated.
