Certain PDF documents printed with evince take ages to be processed by gs.

It seems that https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo/+bug/680628 probably applies.

I'm trying to rebuild patched versions of cairo and poppler libs in order to try and verify if this is really the same problem and solutions.

It seems that the poppler lib in squeeze is similar to the one that was in Ubuntu when the patch was provided in the bug above. However, the version of cairo seems different, so the patch won't apply.

It seems we may need more qualified opinions.
