Dear Maintainer,

When trying to launch Nautilus from the left-hand side 'favorite applications'
menu (aka 'dash) of GNOME3, Nautilus fails to launch and I see a notification
saying "Failed to launch Nautilus File Management 'failed to execute child
process Nautilus-file-management-properties' (no such file or directory)"

When launched from a terminal, Nautilus does launch, but with only black and
white colors and the following messages:
=======
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module"
Initializing nautilus-gdu extension
Initializing nautilus-open-terminal extension
Nautilus-Share-Message: Called "net usershare info" but it failed: 'net
usershare' returned error 255: net usershare: cannot open usershare directory
/var/lib/samba/usershares. Error Permission denied
You do not have permission to create a usershare. Ask your administrator to
grant you permissions to create a share.

Shutting down nautilus-open-terminal extension
Shutting down nautilus-gdu extension

Hey Andrei,

this is an old bug.

Could you please still reproduce this issue with newer nautilus version
like 3.4.2-1+build1 or 3.8.2-3 ?

If so try to add yourself to sambashare group, like $ sudo usermod -a -G
sambashare user

I will let these two links that might help:

and https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+question/31818

thanks
