After recent upgrade of GNOME related packages, the proxy configuration
of pidgin is not usable anymore and the following error message is
displayed in Preferences → Proxy: « Proxy configuration program was not
found. »

You can still get to the GNOME proxy settings from the control center
or the network-manager applet; it's just the link from pidgin that's
broken.
