Rhythmbox is great except for one thing: Pressing space should pause a
playing track, not replay. If you're in a hurry - f.e. the telephone
rings and you need silence - it's just too complicated and unnatural to
use ctrl+space.

Control-Space is usually used as toggle of Input method, while it calls pause.

This has been solved in rhythmbox 3.0.1. Space now toggles play/pause

Hey,

using rhythmbox-3.0.1-1+b2 space or enter just acts as play/pause if left
panel (I mean the panel containing Library and Playlists) is selected
otherwise it acts as next song.
