Hi,

The default terminal size is 80x24, but when I start roxterm, there's
apparently a (very short) moment when its right window edge jumps to
left, rendering the term size to 79x24. (with no
~/.config/roxterm.sourceforge.net/. I use xfce4/xfwm4)

Regards,
Guo Yixuan

reassign 671164 libgtk-3-0
forcemerge 632403 671164
thanks

I'm pretty sure this is the same bug. xfwm4 was patched to stop the
shrinking problem described originally in 632403, but it still works
badly with GTK3 geometry widgets, with the effect you're describing, and
also not unmiaximizing correctly.

For now roxterm-gtk2 is the most practical way to avoid this problem,
but you can also run other window managers, such as compiz, in xfce4.

It's because of this bug that I'm continuing to maintain GTK2 builds of
roxterm. There's currently no difference in functionality, but vte3 may
gain more useful features one day while vte2 is left undeveloped, making
roxterm-gtk2 relatively inferior to roxterm-gtk3.
