Dear Maintainer,

I tried using a Microsoft font, "Calibri", and it seems that ligatures
use the bold version.
Other parts of text are OK.
I tried to reconfigure fontconfig, I set it to 'native', 'always', 'yes'.
Chromium has not this issue. In Ubuntu Firefox is OK too.
I have pictures showing the problem and the Chromium output too.

This is very likely to be the same issue as bug #678083. Can you try
downgrading libcairo2 to 1.10.something?

Hi,
looks like bug #442885, downgrading did not help.

src:iceweasel has been superseded by src:firefox-esr in version
45.0esr-1 in March 2016. Transitional packages to ease upgrades were
provided in the wheezy, jessie, stretch and buster releases. The
transitional packages have been removed finally before the bullseye
release in August 2021.
After regular security support for buster ended in August 2022 and LTS
support ended in June 2024, I'm closing the remaining bug reports now.
