Dear Maintainer,
Here is how to reproduce the problem:
* Insert a blank DVD+R in the drive.
* brasero &
* Click on 'Video project'
* At that point the 'Burn...' button is disabled but I assume that's normal.
* Add a 500MB MPEG2 video.
* Brasero says 'Blank DVD+R disk : 1 h 49 of free space'
* However the 'Burn...' button is still disabled and there's a banner that says:
Please replace the disc with a supported CD or DVD.
However:
* The banner is still present if I select 'Image File' instead of the blank DVD+R.
* If I restart brasero and start a data DVD project on the blank DVD, the 'Burn...' button is enabled. I never had trouble burning data to these DVDs.
* I get the same message whether I pick an AVI, MP4 or other video file format.
If the problem is with the source video, then the message should not blame the blank CD/DVD.
I have attached brasero's debug output.
Here is a workaround for this 'Please replace the disc' issue: install the brasero-cdrkit package. Note that as of 3.4.1-1, brasero neither depends nor suggests brasero-cdrkit which I think qualifies as a bug. Unfortunately getting past this hurdle will only gain you access to the error message: All required applications and libraries are not installed. Please install the following manually and try again: mplex (GStreamer plugin) But that's for another bug (bug 703627)... One more thing, after working around that second bug I get another error: Checking session consistency (brasero_burn_check_session_consistency brasero-burn.c:1739) Session error : An internal error occurred (brasero_burn_record brasero-burn.c:2856) Various sources say that installing the barsero-cdrkit package is supposed to fix this. No dice here but that probably means Debian's brasero-cdrkit package is somewhat broken.
