Hi,

apparently, sending Ctrl-Alt-Del to a Windows(R) VM, with either
regular or spice display, does not work when an X11 keymap that
binds something like Mode_switch to the left Alt key is loaded.

This is a bug IMHO because virt-manager's ability to send arbitrary
special keys to guests ought to be independent of the local X11
settings of a system, especially if that system is neither guest
nor host (but connecting over the network).

This happens with both the sid and experimental libvirt packages.

I checked with virt-manager/gtk-vnc from sid and it's at least fixed
there. Check with wheezy is pending.

Hi,

sorry I have to reopen, but the problem is still present
even after us poor i386 sods ☺ finally get the new gtk-vnc.

I start virt-manager, connect to the remote server I used
earlier for testing too, open up a Windows® VM, try to send
Ctrl-Alt-Del over the menu ⇒ nothing. setxkbmap us ⇒ works.
xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap ⇒ nothing.

setxkbmap us
 ⇒ works again
echo keycode 0x40 = Mode_switch | xmodmap -
 ⇒ fails again (minimum required change)

I do not even have gtk-vnc installed, so I don’t think that that
package can be at fault. Reassigning back to virt-manager. And
yes, it still is a problem.
