Dear Maintainer,

a while ago hibernation stopped working for me.  Several updates of the
kernel and other packages later, I investigated further.  Apparently, I had
an incorrect swap partition set in /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume, after
I had changed its size (and UUID).
The only clue I found in the syslogs was "hibernation image not present or
could not be loaded"  This means that: 1. the initramfs update happily accepts
an unexisting partition as resume image, without warning; and 2. pm-utils
makes no attempt to ensure the memory image diligently written to disk will
be reloaded at the next boot.
I had no idea where the "thawing" kernel was looking for the resume image,
even after reading the documentation.  The answer to my problem was on the
Debian wiki, though.  Judging by the fora I read about this problem, I wasn't
alone with my problem.

My question: would it be possible to issue a warning in case 1., and/or
possibly implement 2.?  I think the documentation could use some love too.
