I ran "sudo apt-get update", "sudo apt-get upgrade", "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade".

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

There is a message that keeps popping up every minute "Wireless Network Authentication Required", "Authentication required by wireless network 'linda'.  Key [text field to enter key]'. I have to keep clicking "connect" on this dialog every minute, otherwise in the browser, it can't reach Google, for instance.  If I don't, it will disconnect.  Then it says "Connection Established" near the wireless icon in the upper right-hand part of the monitor, and "You are now connected to the wireless network 'linda'."

But overall this is ineffective, because I have to repeat it again in 1 minute, over and over.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

It reconnects, but no change as far as the repeated disconnections, which is the main problem in this bug.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

That it would remain connected and stop disconnecting and popping up the connection dialog!  This was working fine until I upgraded.

This repeated disconnection is a critical issue, because in order to look up each issue online, I need the wireless connection to work.

Earlier today I reported that my wireless connection kept dropping.  It was working working fine until I upgraded to Wheezy.  Then the wireless connection kept dropping about every 25 seconds for several hours.

I found a work-around, but I have no idea why, and this is not really a resolution, because it's still unknown to me what in the upgrade code caused the problem.

In the Network Manager, where you click on the bars icon on the top tool bar, that is, I mean, right-click, then "Edit Connections", then go to the Wireless tab and select the network, then click on "Edit", then click on the "IPv6 Settings" tab, and change the Method from "Automatic" to "Ignore".  I waited a few minutes, and the "reauthenticate (asking for the network password)" didn't come up.  I changed it back to "Automatic", and the problem still hasn't come back, so great!

I rebooted, and the wireless connection is still stable, so that's a relief.

If you figure out what caused it, and you can put in a fix so someone else avoids what I went through today, and wasted eight hours, that would be great.

IPv6 tab?

I don't think so, at least it's not now, and I don't think I
made any changes other than what was necessary.
