Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Fresh install, but copied .kde/share/apps/korganizer from the KDE 3 directory
used by the earlier version of Korganizer.
Started korganizer for first time and tried to import std.ics, requesting a
merge.  It says it can't create std.ics and it is impossible to dismiss the
error, either by clicking on the OK button or the x on the window.  Had to kill
process.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?  What happened?
Renamed the std.ics file and import/merged it.  The error is different: "There
is no resource available."  It is not dismissable either.
I also tried creating a import/new calendar.  That did not work, but the error
message was dismissable.

Tried creating a new entry.  Warning: "No calendars found, event cannot be
added."

Tried File | new.  A new window opens.  I can create an entry in it.

Then I was able to merge the std.ics in.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected to be able to import the calendar and see the events in it.

I see the same situation here. Just updated from Squeeze to Wheezy.

Any progress on this since May?

If you manage to produce a patch I'm willing to test it and ask for a
proposed-update on it.

In the mean time, an ics file to be able to test this problem could be useful.

I worked a little more on the issue and it seems to be a user error,
respectively a cryptic error message.

The new Kontact does not automatically import the old calendars since it
apparently uses a new storage model. It however starts wit some default
calendar, which is marked read only by default. So any attempt to import
calendars or create new events must fail.

What might stay as a bug is that it also fails to import the .ics files
as new calendars, but you can create your own and import the .ics into it.
