Dear Maintainer, as the topic states the X does not start:(
Possibly because of this:
Using the blob's GLX with the Nouveau driver does not work, you need to
fix your setup (e.g. run "update-alternatives --config glx" and select
the /usr/lib/mesa-diverted alternative).
However, this might not fix the crash for you - see #712933.
Cheers,
Sven
Dear Maintainer,
When trying to start x I get "No screens found" message.
I needed to switch to vesa to make it running.
I am not sure if this is the same bug, but the summary
seems to fit.
* What led up to the situation?
I did upgrade from wheezy to jessie
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
Tried to refresh configuration with Xorg -configure.
The file I used for testing is a trimmed xorg.conf generated
by -configure. If I change the driver to vesa, it works.
Tried dpkg-reconfigure with the package in question.
* What was the outcome of this action?
Doesn't work still.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
Possibility to start X using nouveau driver.
I bet it's not, you have very different hardware.
See http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=700946. Make sure
the nouveau kernel module is not blacklisted and retry.
Cheers,
Sven
