It does not work.

I do settings of the printer over hplip drivers & system-config-printer

gimp can print super.

After few days, no one can print.
Everyone depressed with LPR.


Please fix this serious issue, because the admin
shall every once a week delete the printer 192.168.1.x
and reinstall it.

It does that on all Linux Debian Stable.

Are you sure you are using lpr and not CUPS? Do you have cups-bsd
installed perhaps?

system-config-printer - System-config-printer is a GUI written to
configure a CUPS server.

You have filed a bug against lpr, which has nothing to do with CUPS.

You also have not specified *why* no one can print. Does the printer
server stop accepting requests? Does the printer server stop
broadcasting your printer? Is it on? If it is on, do you see it? Does
the printer server see the printer (use `lsusb` when it "doesn't
work", assuming it is USB printer)

"It does not work" is clearly false as I have cups installed and it
never stopped working. It also does not tell us anything about what
could potentially be wrong.
