In emacs24, info node

    (info "(xforms)Some Examples")

shows

    [broken image]

where I hoped to see
/usr/share/doc/libforms-doc/html/images/pushme.png

The xforms.info-1.gz has its image link

    [image src="images/pushme.png"]

but that file is not under /usr/share/info/images/pushme.png.

An easy fix could be to sed the .info files to point to their [image
src=""] bits at /usr/share/doc/.

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for pointing that out - I jave never used info from
within emacs and wasn't aware that there are situations where
images might be shown from within an info file (I only used
info from a terminal). I'll try if something like the fix you
proposed can remove this problem.

                        Best regards, Jens

Hi Kevin,

Sorry for the long delay but I was a bit short of time
and hadn't much experience with the autotools used for
building the whole package. I hope that I now managed to
fix the problem and that the next release will work pro-
perly also in this respect. Thank you for pointing out
the problem!
                    Best regards, Jens

I since had a lintian test accepted which reports various packages with
this ... so you're not Robinson Crusoe :-)

Hi Kevin,

Good work!

Even though my cat is called "Friday"?;-)

I guess it's the same for them as it was for me - I never,
before you brought it up, used emacs for reading info files
(although I use emacs every day), so I never noticed this
(and neither did any of the users of the library - or at
last no-one mentioned it). But I don't seem to be in bad
company;-)

I definitely hope it works with the next release, at least
on my machine it seems to do that now (but not perfectly -
some of the larger pictures are not completely visible and
I haven't found a way around that yet, that must remain a
task for sometime when I have more time...)

Enjoy your spring and summer down under - here it starts
getting really bad, the days are getting shorter and shor-
ter, all trees lost their leaves and the weather gets
uglier with every day...
                           Best regards, Jens

It probably works running from a build tree but last time I used
automake it didn't automatically install png images for info but
required a bit of

    myinfodir = $(infodir)
    myinfo_DATA = foo.png bar.png

Too much indent from @center perhaps. I've used @quotation for info
(@ifinfo), and @center otherwise (@ifnotinfo) if that helps.

I see the boxtypes.png is 950 pixels wide, so it may be too big for
anything but a high-res screen, for html as well as info.

:-) Some wintery chill tends to hang around around until as late as the
new year.
