unattended-upgrades included the scrip /etc/pm/sleep.d/10_unattended-upgrades-
hibernate that seemed to reconfigure the sleep states of my system and
prevented hibernation and suspend from working properly. When I tried to
make the system suspend it would black out the screen, change the power light
from blue to orange to represent suspend, then immediately the power light will
change from orange, and wake back up screen and all. When I attempt to
hibernate, it works properly but the system freezes on wakeup. Purging the
package makes the problem go away.

Hibernation after an unattended-upgrades run works for me (0.82.10,
systemd as init, Cinnamon desktop): has this bug been fixed, or is it
hardware/setup specific?

(Note that hibernation _during_ a run is deliberately blocked: #610333)

Maybe not...after today's run, hibernation failed.  Might it be relevant
that unattended-upgrades itself was upgraded in that run?
